Overview :
KOT-M is a must have mobile application for the restaurants. This will simplifies the order taking process in restaurants and minimize the time required to take one order. This application has two parts
  1. Where waiter can take order and process the bill
  2. Where the person in kitchen can see the orders inline
Waiter can choose a table and take order by selecting respective items from item list. As soon waiter finishes the order that order with all the details gets reflected at kitchen. A person from kitchen has to choose particular item from respective order before processing the order.

Waiter can add, edit or delete the order till he / she will not processed the bill for the order. Application will also provide some extensive reports which helps restaurant owner at the end of the day.

Advantages of Multi-biometric Systems over Unibiometric Systems:

  • Unibiometric systems are simply getting outdated with the evolution of multi-biometric systems. By combining the biometric traits for identification and verification, a multi-biometric system is considered to be far better performer than its traditional counterpart, which used only single biometric trait for the same. To understand the difference in a better way, here are some of the advantages of biometric products with multiple biometric traits.
  • More Universal Approach: A multi-biometric system is known to follow the universal approach, by offering more than one option to get enrolled with the system. For instance, in case a person is not able to provide his or her fingerprints as biometric samples, a multi-biometric system can use some other trait for the process of enrollment. Thus, a flexible approach can be followed that remains impossible with unibiometric systems.
  • Easy Search in Large Biometric Database: A huge biometric database can be made search efficient by employing more than one biometric trait as the search criterions. For instance, a biometric search can return the list of various individuals sharing similar facial traits using the features of face. Then, the list can be searched using fingerprint samples to figure out the exact individual.

3.Installation:

a.Install BioScan10 device drivers from the CD:

Browse the CD or provided setup files to get the "2. Drivers" folder, select the appropriate "setup.exe" and run the setup to install the drivers.

The driver will ask to install “DactyScan84 drivers, select yes, and follow the default steps.

4.How to configure BioScan10 fingerprint scanner with BioEnable’s fingerprint VDM:

before using the fingerprint scanner with VDM(Vendor Device Manager),it has to be configured, and to configure, Following steps needs to be taken:

1) open configuration utility
2) find out the computer IP (where Aadhaar Device Manager is installed)
3) Set the Aadhaar Device Manager(DM) IP & port in configuration utility
4) restart the VDM(Vendor Device Manager) service

1)Open configuration utility from the following path “All programs ->BioEnable-> BioEnableVDMConfigurationManager.”(shown as below)

Trans V1 is a time attendance system with inbuilt GPRS and WiFi modules, thermal printer along with inbuilt contactless card reader. This device comes with a fingerprint scanner as an external peripheral. The whole assembly is shown above.

Fingerprint scanner has RJ11 connector which needs to be connected to the RJ11 port of Trans v1 device as shown above.


Device Operation

Auto Scan Mode:
When the device boots up, it will directly go to auto scan mode where user can scan their fingers of tap Mifare card to give their attendance. If the finger is identified, the user ID will be shown on the screen and attendance log will be stored in the device.


Verification:

For verification, give your user ID and place the finger on scanner when it glows. The success/fail message will be displayed on screen. For every successful verification, log will get stored in the device.

Identification:

In identification, the above screen will be shown. When you press “1” on the keypad, the fingerprint scanner will glow and you can scan your finger. If the finger found in the database, the corresponding user ID will be displayed on screen otherwise failure message will be displayed. For every successful identification, log will get stored in the device.

Identificaion


Log Posting:

Here you can post the logs that got stored in the device by the above three (auto scan, verification, identification) modes. The logs get posted to a pre-defined server.

First, the screen displays the number of logs present in the device and asks for your confirmation. On confirmation, the device starts posting logs using pre-selected network type. The log posting speed completely depends on your service provider.

After posting logs acknowledgement message will be displayed on the screen as shown below and if all logs get posted, the log file will be deleted automatically to save space.


Entering master mode:

To enter master mode, there are two ways. One with master ID with fingerprint and second is master ID with master password.

As the names suggests, the first method will ask for master ID and the corresponding finger and the second method will ask master ID ant the master password. On successful master login, you will be navigated to master menu as shown below

Registering user:
To register user, enter the new user ID and password ID length is pre-defined and password length is limited to four.
After that enter the user privilege .i.e. master or normal user. The place the finger on scanner twice (check messages on screen). If no error occurs, a successful message appears on display.


Delete User:

There are two ways to delete a user.
1. Delete with ID and fingerprint
2. Delete with only fingerprint.
In the first method both user ID and the finger registered against this ID are required. While in the second method, only registered finger is required.

After successful verification of ID/finger, a confirmation message will appear. Pressing ENTER key will delete that user from database.


User Count:
This menu shows the total number of users (normal + master) and number master users.

Delete All Users:
Here you can format the complete user database. On confirming, all the users will get deleted along with master users.


Settings:
Network settings and ID length settings can be done here.

Network setting
Under network setting, you have a choice to select type of network .i.e. either GPRS or WiFi. For that, go to “Connection type” and select the network type.

GPRS Selection
For GPRS network, you have to give the APN, username, password and SIM pin.
Type APN, login name, password for GPRS
Give SIM PIN(default 0000)

WIFI Selection
If you select WiFi, you have two options, manual configure or auto scan network. Auto scan is not recommended as the wifi network may be secured. So it is recommended to use manual configure. Here, you have to enter your access point name, channel and security password. After a short period of time you will get connected to wifi network.


ID Length settings

To set or change ID length, you have to format the user database first.
On your confirmation, the database will be formatted and corresponding message will be displayed on screen.

Thermal Printer:- The thermal printer uses a 2.25 inch thermal paper for printing. The paper roll resides inside the plastic enclose shown above.


LCD:- The LCD is mainly user for showing different menus, messages etc. It’s a eight line LCD where you can programmatically change the text font. With smallest font, you can display maximum eight lines.

SIM card:- The SIM card is mainly used for GPRS connection which is required for transactions, posting attendance logs from contactless card, etc. It can also be used to send text messages related to transactions and other stuff.


SAM cards:- It is a smart card in a reduced form factor similar to a SIM card. SAM cards are usually used to hold cryptographic . They can also be used to store small data. This device supports four such SAM cards as shown above.


Other Peripherals:- The device comes with RS232 port where you can connect serial fingerprint module which can be used for attendance purpose

The device specifications are given below:



Network Settings:

At the very first boot, you will be asked to select network connection type GPRS/WiFi.
  1. GPRS Settings:If you select GPRS, you will be asked APN, username, password (enter according to your service provider). Then you will be asked SIM PIN. Leave it blank and if all the credentials are correct, you can get connected to GPRS network. (NOTE: The network speed is completely dependent on your service provider)
  2. WiFi Settings: If you select WiFi, you have two options, manual configure or auto scan network. Auto scan is not recommended as the wifi network may be secured. So it is recommended to use manual configure. Here, you have to enter your access point name, channel and security password. After a short period of time you will get connected to wifi network.
